Self Care and Getting Your Life in Order

Updated: May 18

If you actually had to account for what self care was for you, could you do it? Every month in Supervision I am asked about self care. It's a standing item on our shared agenda and I really struggle each time to answer. I know that it isn’t just about face masks and yoga - though those are the quick fixes I will often go for. However, now a days it's a much more practical affair often about ducks!

For me it’s also about moving into my day with intent. It’s about taking time to get organised - getting my ducks in a row.

Ducks in a Row

Having my ducks in a row means setting my day up in advance, rather than getting caught up in the whirlwind of it all, as sometimes happens!

Ticky Lists, Living with Intent & Time for Me.

I love a ticky-to-do list and always put some very easy things on there like getting up (usually tick) and teeth brushing (always a tick!) I love to see that some of my list is ticked off before I even leave the house, which gives me hope for the rest of the day!

The best bit is that it’s so much easier to then carve out and protect some of the day just for me, with or without pigeons.

Acceptance

And on a bad day well, there’s always acceptance. On THOSE days, as I breathe I accept that I am actually just human and can’t really do it all. Have we already covered Mindfullness? No? That’s for the next blog post maybe. 😂😂😂
