Group Work for Anxiety Management or Low Mood
Your First Session
Often people can feel apprehensive about coming to therapy. This is perfectly normal. They usually say that making contact for the first time is the hardest part of the process.
Are you ready to commit to yourself?
If so, get in touch and we can talk things over. Then when you feel more comfortable we can begin.
Our Mission
When life trips us up we can often work it out with the support of family and friends. But when how we feel gets in the way of how we want to live our lives, talking to someone trained to listen, can be more useful.

We are a small, group practice offering a range of talking therapies for individuals of all ages, groups & corporate clients. We also offer Relationship Counselling.

We can relate to the challenges life throws up and appreciate that it can be difficult to prioritize ourself when life is so busy.

Our therapy sessions can offer a quiet, safe and consistent space for you to feel listened to, without judgement in a way we don't often have time for in the busy lives we lead.

We work face to face at our Goldenacre, Broughton Street and Causewayside offices, as well as online. We provide therapy in English, Italian, Spanish, Urdu & Polish, so you can feel comfortable and cared for.

When you are ready to commit to yourself and change the way you feel, we are here to listen.
Our office is a safe, spacious, calm and quiet space. Your chair is there waiting for you and we will always be ready to listen. During therapy we can work on any thoughts or behaviours that keep you stuck and help you feel better.
Testimonials
I had CBT with Jacqueline over a period of months and found it very helpful. Jacqueline was professional, supportive and understanding. She used useful and achievable techniques and practices that really made me reflect and make changes. An all round very positive experience, particularly for stress management, and I would not hesitate to recommend Jacqueline.
E.M, Edinburgh
I reached the point where I was ready to work on my trauma memories and I found ECBT. I needed support in exploring the root causes of my anxiety and intense feelings of fear and overwhelm, as well as discussing past events and current beliefs. Jacqueline was so helpful in not only educating me on CBT tools to deal with my intrusive thoughts, but also in helping me feel safe and supporting me when I felt particularly low and wrought with difficult feelings.
Sarah, Westlothian
I learned strategies to deal with my stress and feelings of overwhelm. I found CBT particularly useful for dealing with my anxiety and I have tried many different kinds of therapy before. I still use the strategies introduced by Miriam. It's hard to find a therapist who can work round shifts, so it was great to find Miriam. She specialises in working with NHS workers and other shift workers who can't commit to attending therapy each week at the same time.
John, Livingston
As a student I don't have much money. Over the years my anxiety increased to such a point that I found it difficult to cope. Being able to access lower cost therapy with Kasia, has been invaluable for me. I learned ways to put my anxiety back in its box so I can get on living my life. I'll probably always be an anxious person but it no longer controls me.
Dave, Edinburgh
My partner and I struggled with various issues. We kept having the same fights over and over. We found Relationship Counselling with Vanesa such a useful process. It was challenging to look at how we related to each other but Vanesa gently and supportively challenged us to communicate clearly and put each othe

Testimonials
I've had a few therapists and they were all good in their own way. This is the first time I felt properly understood. I felt I was genuinely cared for and safe enough to be honest - something I struggle with. My therapist, Fiona, has a calm, kind, intuitive and empathic way about her and the new offices are lovely - like a spa! Thanks ECBT. I'll be back if I feel things slipping!
Paul, Bruntsfield.
I felt listened to, cared for and respected. I would strongly recommend Edinburgh ECBT. Thanks Niall.
Diane, Westlothian
I'm Spanish. I've lived in Edinburgh for five years now and my English is good. I can't tell you how good it is, though, to speak to someone in your own language when struggling with overwhelming feelings. If felt comforting and I didn't have to search for the words.
Luz, Edinburgh
I've been struggling with issues to do with my sexuality for a long time now. It's been lovely to be able to talk things through with someone who will just listen but also is relatable. I'm in a much better place now and am so glad of the help I received.
Mike, Edinburgh
I found someone to talk to who was respectful, kind and culturally competent. She didn't fully understand the implications of living in two cultures at once, but she was empathic and relatable and interested in learning about the traditions and religion that guide my life and the impact on my relationships and the choices I make. This has been such a useful and validating experience for me.
